Why local matters

A national installer doesn't know your back close

Most national EV companies work through a network of subcontractors — the person quoting you isn't the person fitting it, and neither of them has stood on your street before. That's how you end up with a "standard install" quote that quietly grows by £400 on the day.

We live and work here. We know which Bearsden villas have rear garages served by an old sub-main, which East Kilbride estates were wired with modern consumer units from day one, and which Glasgow tenements need a quiet word with the factor before anything goes on the wall.

  • Same engineer surveys, quotes and installs — no handover gaps.
  • We've seen most Scottish housing types before. Few surprises on the day.
  • Honest pricing because we don't carry national overheads.
  • If something needs aftercare, we're 20 minutes away — not a ticket queue.
  • Local supplier relationships keep wait times short on parts.

What homeowners say

Reviews from real Glasgow customers

Names shortened for privacy. Happy to share full reviews and references on request.

"Quick, tidy and £200 cheaper than the big national. Daniel actually walked me round the cable route before drilling a single hole — first tradesperson who's done that."

Sarah M. · Bearsden

Install: Hypervolt 3 Pro

"Brilliant from quote to install. They flagged that my consumer unit needed swapping and did both jobs in one visit so I wasn't paying two call-outs."

David K. · Paisley

Install: Easee One + CU upgrade

"Polite, certified, on time. Set up the Octopus tariff with us before they left and showed my husband (who is not technical) how the app works. Sound team."

Linda R. · East Kilbride

Install: Ohme ePod

"Tenement install — I genuinely thought it'd be a faff. Rhona handled the factor side, picked the neatest cable run, and it looks like it's always been there."

Alasdair B. · Glasgow West End

Install: Zappi v2.1

FAQs

EV charger installation — common questions

How fast is a 7kW home charger compared with a 3-pin plug?
A 7kW unit adds roughly 25–30 miles of range per hour, so most EVs charge fully overnight. A standard 3-pin granny lead manages around 8 miles per hour and isn't designed for nightly use — it's a backup, not a daily charger.
How long does the whole installation usually take?
From first enquiry to a working charger is typically 5–10 working days. The fitting itself takes 2–4 hours on the day, depending on cable run and whether your consumer unit needs an upgrade.
Which Scottish grants can I actually claim in 2026?
Homeowners with a driveway no longer qualify for OZEV. Renters and flat owners can still claim up to £350. Scottish landlords and businesses have separate routes via Energy Saving Trust and the Workplace Charging Scheme — we confirm what fits your situation in the quote.
Will an EV charger work with my existing electricity tariff?
Yes, but you'll save real money on a smart EV tariff. Octopus Go, Intelligent Octopus and EDF GoElectric drop overnight rates to around 7–9p/kWh — about a quarter of standard pricing. Any 7kW smart charger we fit is compatible.
Where does the cable run from the meter to the charger?
Wherever's tidiest and shortest. Common routes are along the skirting in a hallway, through a loft, or externally in matched trunking. We walk every route with you on the survey before any drilling — no surprises.
